We are pleased to announce the return of a wearable art competition for  the Gisborne region. Entries OPEN 1 February 2017

Up until 2007, Eastwoodhill brought this concept of a wearable art competition to Gisborne for 10 years but now it is due a face lift, a new name and a new owner, Prue Younger, Public Impressions.

It is a chance to recreate some great category themes, bring it into 2017 and bringing back an opportunity to let the creative side of our community go wild.

What makes it truly special is that it attracts young, old, male, female – in fact everyone.

When: 22/23 September 2017
Where: YMCA Stadium Gisborne
How: Two sessions :
Friday night PrintonFabric Pre-launch Cocktails (Rehearsal)
Saturday night Cutting Edge Awards Party

Master of Ceremony
Jackie Clarke is the original jack-of-all-trades with her huge voice, personality and wicked sense of humour.

Jackie spent 10 years touring and recording with When The Cat’s Been Spayed, where she earned a reputation for wearing plastic fruit on her head – but we can assure you it was only ever flowers and the odd vegetable.
Recent stage appearances include star turns in Mamma Mia, Anything Goes, Sweet Charity, Spelling Bee, A Christmas Carol, Mum’s The Word, The Underwatermelonman, Porgy and Bess, and Joseph.

Guest Judge

We will work with a judging panel of three, two local talented persons and a national guest judge (someone from a fashion house will be our aim).

Charity Support

This year we are electing to provide a contribution of the proceeds to the East Coast Branch of CanTeen. We feel as a community project and event that there is a chance to give something back
